baby smiles...

a few weeks ago, at 2AM, when i was low on gas and having a horrible time trying to get B to switch around her schedule, she took a deep breath, stopped crying, looked straight into my eyes and smiled her first beautiful smile. in that instant, it didn't matter that i was pulling 18+ hour days with her and ready to pull my hair out...all that mattered was that beautiful toothless little grin. since then, i wake up to beautiful smiles every day and each one takes my breath away. and though it took some skill, i finally caught it on camera! :) she's growing up so fast and while it's so much fun, at the same time, it's so sad!!

visits with gramma and grampa

this past weekend my gramma and grampa came to visit & see me all the way from honolulu. i had lots of fun with my gramma, who helped take care of me and gave my mommy a very BIG break and even let mommy and daddy get out for a bit on their own...she even came down and stayed the night on valentines day so that mommy & daddy could have a nice romantic dinner! i had so much fun spending time with them & know that mommy and daddy enjoyed their visit and company (and lots of olive garden) too! i can't wait for them to come visit again!

gramma and me :)
gramma learned fast... i love my airplane pose!

my first beach trip

this weekend, mommy and daddy took me to san clemente pier to see the beach for the very first time. the sign said the water was 54 degrees. BRRRR! mommy kept talking about all the fun things we'll be doing in the next few months when it gets warmer and daddy kept telling me that this is no "real" ocean and to hold out for the warm waters of hawai'i. daddy thinks i'll be a water baby so hopefully things will work out for new years so i don't have to go into this cold, dirty water!

my first time beach trip.

bumbo time...

tonight, i decided it was time for mini me to try out her little pink bumbo. she wasn't able to keep her head very steady but i'm sure with time, she'll love it, as she loves to be UP and looking at EVERYTHING!

in the meantime, here she is, looking at mommy with her "what's going on mommy?" face. gosh i just love her! :)

cozy little B

all cute and snuggly

dear auntie ashley...

thank you so much for tipping my mommy off to the swaddleme. she ran right out, spent the $10.00 and hasn't looked back since. as for me, i've spent the past few weeks warm, cozy and spending the night sleeping the entire night...and even in my own bassinet!! well, ok, who am i kidding, i spend a few hours in the bassinet and then somehow make my way to mommy and daddy's bed for some early morning cuddling with mommy...but that's another story :) so thank you for passing on the important mommy information to my mommy...mommy and daddy say they owe you a big hug and kiss now that, thanks to the extra hours of sleep, they are fully functional.

i can't wait to meet you and my cute playmates!
(even though daddy says no boy friends til i'm 30),

i hate tummy time...

but love to lie on my back and see EVERYTHING!!

6.5 week pediatrician visit.

last monday (2/16) we took little b to her pediatrician for her 6.5 week visit and imagine our shock when we learned that she now weighs 12 lbs and is a little over 23 inches long!! i knew she was getting big (and very heavy), but dear lord! dr says she is doing great and that she is SO strong. she can pull herself to sit up and even scoot around in an almost army-like crawl. she's definitely very independent and determined!! we then decided to get baby's shots due to our upcoming trip. she loved the liquid one (no wonder why she weighs 12 lbs!) but the two shots in the thighs...not so good. and let's just say...SO SAD! mommy (and gma) definitely cried as the little one started screaming bloody  murder. luckily, it was only momentary and she had no bad reactions. she's getting so big!!

so today i caught little B napping like she had had the hardest day yet. she cracks me up. life must be hard for her! :p

then i found this picture of me when i was in labor...think we're alike? :)

going public (again!)

yay! i finally convinced the hubby to let me make the blog public again. woohooo!! i mean, what's the point of our family blog, if not everyone can enjoy right?! i even get to post video and pictures so long as i don't mention anyone's full name or our last name. fine by me! so yay, once i go through and fix some stuff, all our friends and family can enjoy again and not everyone has to be computer savvy! YAY!

and for those of you wondering where my little buddha baby is, she's right here, just chillin :) not the best picture, but you get the point.
(this was taken about 10 seconds before she decided she had had ENOUGH!)
lots, Lots, LOTS more to come later!

bed hog.

it's official, baby b takes after daddy and is a big bed hog. every night, she falls asleep and can spend a few hours in her bassinet, but without fail, she wakes herself up around 2A, feeds and will not go back in the bassinet (or fall asleep) without a few hours of protesting. unfortunately this didn't work out so great for mama.

pre-mommyhood, i swore she would NEVER co-sleep with us. however, after a few nights, we figured out that the way to a few more hours of sleeping bliss was for her to be swaddled/warm and either on our chest or nestled right next to me. she didn't like to be all alone and cold in her crib or bassinet!! so every night in the past few weeks she's found her way into our bed. she then finds her way cuddled right next to me. it's precious, we get a few more hours of sleep but at the same time a little nerve-racking as a first-time, overbearing/overprotective mama! :) nonetheless, the other night she finally made the jump from waking up every 2 hours to every 4-5 hours. and the next morning, after waking up to her sweet cuddles, i went to go get ready and came back to find her like this. not only is she a bed hog, but she's a sleepyhead as well. again, just like daddy ;)

this past weekend...

i have tons of pictures and video to post so hopefully ill get to that soon. in the meantime, this past weekend was jampacked! it started off with lots and lots and lots of rain and very, very cold weather. we loved it and the opportunity to bundle up and cuddle!

we had a nice, quiet family night on friday and were all up early saturday morning for a very full, eventful day. The husband worked half-dayish while B and i got ready for our small roadtrip down to san diego to visit with my brother blake before his basketball game that night. it was the first time the two B's got to meet, and it was so precious how little B just stared up at him, smiling her priceless toothless grin. i love seeing lil B with her uncles, probably because i know she's just going to adore them as she gets older, as they do her!

big b & mini b. look at those little feet and big hands. so adorable!

after our short visit, we headed over to the mall to grab a bite to eat. we ended up at a sport's bar/restaurant and waited for the husband while we killed a bit of time before heading over to the university of san diego for the game.

the game was definitely an excitement and our front-row seats were pretty awesome. definitely felt like VIP. :) unfortunately, they lost but we still had a fun, fun night. lil B was an angel in her snugli, which she just loves, Loves, LOVES!
seriously the best invention ever.
and mommy and daddy enjoyed the night out of the house!

we got home late and just kept going, going, going on sunday since gramma lynn came into town! fun, fun, fun! so we headed down to olive garden for a late lunch/early dinner where lil b could meet her gramma and we could all catch up. olive garden, as always, was DELICIOUS and the little one was a crowd pleaser! i forgot to take pictures but we will be seeing gramma again, so i'll be sure to get some and post them! :)

daddy unfortunately headed back to work today but mini me and i are spending the day cuddling and enjoying the rain from inside as we plan our very busy next few weeks and vegas trip #1. yay!

temper tantrums.

so... the books all say it's not possible and that 'crying is the only form of communication' and 'she doesn't know what she's doing'. and while, i believe this, i also am convinced that my little B throws temper tantrums to get what she wants.  and in the midst of her 'tantrum', she does these fiesty leg kicks that remind me of a cross-between a crab walking and a high-knee workout. it makes me crack up every time. so a few weekends ago, i was lucky enough to have my camera ready to document the first few seconds of one of her 'tantrums', where you can see the beginning of her kicks. trust me, she gets some much more powerful kicks in, however i'm not cruel and would never leave her to cry just to get some video for the blog. but maybe i'll be able to catch more at a later date! :)
