B and Elmo

B's new fascination is with Elmo. She loves watching Elmo's world, babbling away to Elmo and making sure Elmo comes along with us all the time. Here she is saying, "Mommy, Elmo and I are tired" after a long day of errands and playdates.

Only You Can Love Me This Way

"I was changing jobs and moving in the same week. I needed a new start. Needed a breath of fresh air. I was drowning and there was nothing to help keep me afloat. As I walked downstairs from moving boxes all day, I saw him. Him. I get giddy still thinking about the first time I laid eyes on him. He gave me a tight smile as we were introduced and quickly walked away with that cute, walking-like-he's-on-a-mission walk he has. He barely even said 'Hello." I remember thinking, 'What the hell is his problem?' But little did I know our path together, in that single moment, had become merged."

Four years ago today, I met my husband. Is it odd that I remember the entire thing like it was yesterday? I can still see the entire scene play itself out in my head. I love it. It's a memory I hope I never lose.
